According to the statistics of Switzerland’s customs, its volume of goods trade was USD326.71 billion from January to July in 2016, up 2.8% year-on-year (the same below). Exports grew by 1.9% to USD172.29 billion, and imports grew by 3.9% to USD154.42 billion. The trade surplus was USD17.88 billion, down 12.5%.

In July, Switzerland’s volume of goods trade grew by 4.9% to USD49.07 billion. Exports grew by 3.8% to USD26.78 billion and imports grew by 6.2% to USD22.29 billion. And the trade surplus fell by 6.5% to USD4.49 billion.

Since January to July, bilateral trade volume between Switzerland and China grew by 5.5% to USD19.41 billion. Switzerland’s exports to China grew by 11.0% to USD12.42 billion. It accounted for 7.2% of Switzerland’s overall export, up 0.6%. And Switzerland’s imports from China fell by 3.0% to USD6.99 billion. It accounted for 4.5% of Switzerland’s overall imports, down 0.3% over the previous year. Switzerland’s trade surplus with China grew by 36.3% to USD5.43 billion.

China was the 4th export market of Switzerland and its 7th largest source of imports up to July in 2016.
